This animation shows local levels of unemployment in Canada and the United States over a twenty year period culminating in the recession years at the end of the previous decade. It is quite devastating in recent historical context. Much of Canada was hit hard but for the most part fared better than its southern neighbour. What would the geography of the recovering look like?
